Sexy Playlist

I have fun writing sexy scenes in my stories and setting the scene with sensual music. Here are some songs I use for writing or for my own fun times ;) Some are love songs, and some are more sensual.

Christina Perri - A Thousand Years
A great love song. She has a beautiful voice!

Massive Attack - Paradise Circus
A haunting melody and gorgeous piano work.

Damien Rice - Delicate
Slow, moving, quiet.

Jewel - Barcelona
Starts off quiet, but has soaring chorus with poetic lyrics.

Thievery Corporation - Sweet Tides
An indie song with soft vocals and a nice rhythm.

Beyonce - 1+1
A sultry ballad.

Outkast - Spottieottiedopilicious A mesmerizing song with Outkast's unique style.

Sander Kleinenberg - This Is Our Night
Picks up from the last ones, an energy-fused electronica song. What songs do you like for sexy times? Share the music!

New Year's Blog Hop!

I'm so excited to be participating in my first blog hop -- and definitely not the last! More than 200 authors, bloggers, and readers are participating in the New Year's Blog Hop. It's very convenient, because actually my erotic romance short story takes place on New Year's Eve! (Read more about that below). And taking after the main character, Jenelle, I decided to do some New Year's Eve Confessions!

Confession #1: I ate way too much sugar in 2012.
I'm sorry (who am I apologizing to? My hips!) but I cannot stay away from cakes, cookies, candy, ice cream, toffee. . .and it's worse during the holidays! It's like your relatives are trying to fatten you up for the slaughter. Well, it's not all their fault -- I baked more pumpkin treats than I can count!

Confession #2: I spent more time reading romance than the serious literature my coworkers consume.
This is only a confession for people who don't know me all that well. Sure, I heard about the Nobel-prize winning books, but you won't find them on my Kindle. Lately, you can find a LOT of New Adult romances! The Secret of Lila and Micha, Easy, The Edge of Never -- a perfect way way to spend my weekend.

Confession #3: I cruised Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook when I should have been working.
Pretty sure we're all guilty of this, right? Maybe I'm not anything special. The Internet is this world of information, all these different ways for people to connect and share stories. I love it! I love keeping up with friends and finding new ideas for recipes or house decor or crafts.

Confession #4: I don't plan on changing a thing.
Okay, there are a FEW things I'll change -- I'll be writing and publishing romance like a madwoman, for one. I'll be implementing more fruits and veggies into my diet. I'll be looking at less lolcats and reading more thought-provoking articles. But all of these things, they bring me pleasure and I like them and sometimes I love them. It's all about balance, but in general, I don't want to cut them out of my life.

In my erotic romance short story, New Year's Eve Confessions, Jenelle is home after a few months teaching in Greece. She meets up with Darren, the old friend she's been crushing on for two years, and she's ready to make a few confessions of her own. If you're interested in reading it, it's available pretty much everywhere ebooks are sold: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, All Romance Ebooks, and iTunes.

Great Romances of 2012

This was a good year for romance. In no particular order, I threw together a list of three romances I enjoyed in 2012, from books, TV shows, and movies.

Jacqueline and Lucas
from Easy by Tamarra Webber

This new adult romance is centered around Jacqueline shortly after she breaks off a long-term relationship. Lucas is a loner in her class and harbor secrets. I'm so bad at writing blurbs for other books, but I really loved the relationship between these two. Lucas has a heartbreaking past, and I loved reading about the two of them coming together through secrets and the trouble with Buck.

Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt
from Parks and Recreation (NBC)

These two are my favorite TV couple in my favorite comedy show! They go together so well, and I honestly couldn't get enough of them. They are cute and funny and that proposal. was. awesome! It was so perfect for their characters and, I admit it, I cried.

Suzy Bishop and Sam Shakusky
from Moonrise Kingdom (Wes Anderson)

This isn't your typical romance -- an offbeat film from Wes Anderson tells the story about two adolescents who run away from home to be together. They rely on each other through troubled families, foster homes, and a world that doesn't understand them. Their young love brings the town together as they search for the two during a storm. I thought the movie was perfection, I enjoyed every minute of it.

I know there are so many others, but these three really stood out to me!

Cover Reveal: New Year's Eve Confessions

This is the first romance short story from Samantha Grey and certainly not the last!

What do you think? I love it, but I might be biased. ;)

New Year's Eve Confessions
After three months in Greece, Jenelle is home for the holidays and spending New Year's Eve with the one person she wants to kiss when the clock strikes midnight. She's been pining after Darren for two years, and she's ready for him to know how she feels.

A hot midnight kiss is sure to lead to more, but Jenelle worries about the timing. His girlfriend of two years cheated on him, and Jenelle doesn't want to be his rebound. Not to mention she has a plane to catch in just a few days. Is this night of passion a one-time occurrence between them, or could it be the start of something deeper?

An erotic romance short story just over 8,000 words, or about 28 pages.
